Is Phentermine Safe?

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

In the past there has been much controversy about the safety of the stimulant known as Phentermine which acts as an amphetamine. Phentermine has been used as an appetite suppressant which does affect the central nervous system. Together with exercise, Phentermine has been successful for weight loss. In the late 1990’s, the issue of Phentarmine safety arose because of the Phen-fen scare where it was determined that the combination of Phentermine and Fenfluramine which made up Phen-fen was pulled from the market due to serious health conditions involving the heart and lungs. It was the combination of the two drugs that were the problem, primarily the Fenfluramine. There has been no evidence that Phentermine is ineffective or unsafe on its own.

Phentirmine is also sold under the brand name Adipex and is available for anyone to order via online pharmacies. Under these conditions, Phenturmine would not be considered safe unless it was prescribed by and monitored by a physician. There are certain side effects when using Phentarmine and there are also certain people who should not use this drug because they would be considered high risk. Phentermine can be safe for some people and not for others especially those who might suffer from conditions such as anxiety, high blood pressure, any type of heart disease, an overactive thyroid, glaucoma, or if you have a history of drug or alcohol abuse.

Specific side effects can be associated with the use of Phentermin and while some are minor such as dizziness, nervousness or anxiousness, headaches, insomnia, itching, diarrhea, or constipation sometimes a simple dosage adjustment will alleviate these side effects. However, there can be major side effects that might need more attention than just a dosage adjustment and can indicate a serious problem. These could include chest pain, swelling in the feet or ankles, shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, a feeling of restlessness or confusion, increased blood pressure, or seizures.

S.Africa rand recovers vs dollar

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa’s rand recovered some ground against the dollar on Thursday after a battering overnight that took it to new 6-1/2 year lows, but generally remains on the backfoot as global economic worries hit markets.

At 0637 GMT the rand traded 2.08 percent firmer at 11.32 against the greenback, compared with Wednesday’s close at 11.56 in New York. The local currency went as low as 11.88 against the dollar overnight, its weakest level since March 2002, Reuters data shows.

The rand’s latest gains were due to some profit taking after its heavy losses overnight and in Asian trade earlier on Thursday, a Johannesburg trader said.

“But it still looks quite horrible. There’s lack of liquidity, especially during New York trade, although it seems as though during local (Johannesburg) time we have two-way flows,” the trader said.

“All emerging market currencies are under immense pressure. To be honest it can go any way, but we’re still of the view that there could be some more rand weakening.”

Government bonds were also firmer, and yields fell in turn. The benchmark 2015 bond yield dropped 6.5 basis points to 9.89 percent, while that for the 2036 note was down 7 basis points at 9.215 percent.

Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are among the most commonly prescribed categories of drugs worldwide in the treatment of pain and inflammation in many conditions.

NSAIDs are used primarily to treat inflammation, mild to moderate pain, and fever. Specific uses include the treatment of headaches, arthritis, sports injuries, and menstrual cramps. Aspirin is used to inhibit the clotting of blood and prevent strokes and heart attacks in individuals at high risk. NSAIDs also are included in many cold and allergy preparations. Two drugs in this category, ibuprofen and naproxen, also reduce fever.

Uses

NSAIDs are usually indicated for the treatment of acute or chronic conditions where pain and inflammation are present. These drugs also are effective in some neuropathic pain syndromes when used with other analgesics. NSAIDs are generally indicated for the symptomatic relief of the following conditions:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Acute gout
  • Inflammatory arthropathies (e.g. ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, Reiter’s syndrome)
  • Dysmenorrhoea (painful menstruation)
  • Headache and migraine
  • Postoperative pain
  • Mild-to-moderate pain due to inflammation and tissue injury
  • Back pain and sciatica.
  • Sprains, strains, and rheumatism.
  • Dental pain.
  • Pain from kidney stones (renal colic).
  • To reduce fever
  • Other painful conditions, especially where there is inflammation.

Drugs In The Class

There are several different types of NSAIDs:

  • Salicylates: aspirin (Ascriptin, Bayer, Ecotrin), diflunisal (Dolobid, Diflunisal Tablets), salsalate (Argesic SA, Disalcid, Salflex, Salsitab, Mono Gesic)
  • Arylalkanoic acids: diclofenac (Voltaren, Cataflam), indomethacin (Indocin)
  • 2-Arylpropionic acids (profens): ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), ketoprofen (Orudis, Oruvail), naproxen (Naprosyn, Alleve), carprofen
  • Pyrroles: ketorolac (Toradol)
  • Enolic acids (oxicams): piroxicam (Feldene), meloxicam (Mobic)
  • Sulphonanilides: nimesulide
  • Napthylalkanones: nabumetone (Relafen)

Mechanism Of Action

NSAIDs work by suppressing the production of fatty acids called prostaglandins that cause inflammation and pain. They do this by blocking the action of an enzyme, cyclooxygenase (COX). This enzyme is responsible for converting precursor acids into prostaglandins.

In the periphery NSAIDs work by decreasing the sensitivity of the nociceptor to painful stimuli induced by heat, trauma, or inflammation. In the central nervous system, they are thought to function as antihyperalgesics and block the increased transmission of repetitive incoming signals to higher centers. In effect, they modulate perception of pain caused by repetitive stimulation from the periphery.

Differences Between NSAIDs

NSAIDs vary in their potency, duration of action, and the way in which they are eliminated from the body. Another important difference is their ability to cause ulcers and promote bleeding. The more an NSAID blocks Cox-1, the greater is its tendency to cause ulcers and promote bleeding.

Choice of NSAID for chronic and disabling inflammatory joint diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis is governed by age, diagnosis, degree of severity, relative gastrointestinal safety, tolerability, and relative efficacy in the given clinical situation. It is a common misconception that all NSAIDs are therapeutically equally efficacious and any one of them could be used for the given indication. Use of multiple NSAIDs should be discouraged. An agent with comparatively less gastrointestinal (GI) side effects like ibuprofen and diclofenac should be preferred in place of indomethacin, piroxicam, or naproxen, which are more gastrotoxic. In conditions where diagnosis is uncertain, the medicine should be empirically chosen and given for a week or so and if the response is adequate it should be continued until side effects mandate its withdrawal. Ankylosing spondylitis responds better to a particular NSAID like indomethacin. It is probably related to its stronger inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.

Aspirin is a unique NSAID, not only because of its many uses, but because it is the only NSAID that is able to inhibit the clotting of blood for a prolonged period (4 to 7 days). This prolonged effect of aspirin makes it an ideal drug for preventing the blood clots that cause heart attacks and strokes. Most other NSAIDs inhibit the clotting of blood for only a few hours.

The major NSAIDs of potency comparable to opioids are diclofenac and ketorolac. Moderate postoperative pain, for example, may be managed using these agents. The overall analgesic effect of 30 mg of ketorolac is equivalent to that of 6 to 12 mg of morphine. Efficacy has been demonstrated for postsurgical pain including oral, orthopedic, gynecologic, and abdominal procedures. Efficacy for acute musculoskeletal pain has also been shown. Ketorolac causes ulcers more frequently than any other NSAID and is, therefore, not used for more than five days.

Naproxen provides effective relief in acute traumatic injury and for acute pain associated with migraine, tension headache, postoperative pain, postpartum pain, pain consequent to various gynecologic procedures, and the pain of dysmenorrhea.

Mothers and their love for big cars

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

Women love feminine cars. Light colors soft seat and something not too fast. They want something that will compliment them. Cars women like in their young years ranges from the BMW 3 Series Convertible, Toyota Auris, Citroen C2, Audi Coupe, Fiat Iconic 500 and Porsche. Women never place sentimental value on their cars as men do. Cars are more of a means of transport for them and mostly buy second hand vehicles from Nam cars over the Internet with the help of their brother’s advice.
As women grow older their life changes, so automatically their needs for a car changes as well. They get married and have 20000 kids, ok they have 2 kids but they feel like 20000. If they never get married they have a billion cats. Both ways her needs are different and so will there car be.
Married women love huge family cars. This can be the Volvo XC70, Cadillac SRX, Tata’s Safari and the Volkswagen Mircobus. They need the space for the children they have to drive around and all the baggage the children have. Kayla wants to take her parrot to school for show and tell. Jon wants to take his bicycle with because he wants to ride home with his friends, even if you secretly know you’ll give him a lift. When all this is done she wants to lay back and take a breather before picking up her husband from work. Women love big cars because it’s comfortable for the quick carnal sensation with her husband before driving home to her over active children. It’s no surprise to me why women love big cars it’s the only pleasure they get out of their hectic lives is driving the car and picking up her husband from work.

Samsung U100 review

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

In a nutshell: Wow! The U100 is the slimmest and lightest phone ever. It’s half the weight of a typical phone and a quarter of the thickness. Put this phone in your bag or pocket and watch it disappear! Yet it still has a 3 megapixel camera, a video camera and a music player.
Best buy: Available any moment now (July 2007)

The U100 is the second of Samsung’s second-generation Ultra phones to arrive in the UK and is the replacement for the Samsung X820. The U100 replaces the X820 as the thinnest phone in the world! The Samsung U100 shaves 1mm off the already skinny X820, measuring an astonishing 5.9mm thin. At the same time, the U100 is a narrower phone, and this is a welcome improvement, as it makes the keypad easier to use, especially for people with smaller hands. But Samsung weren’t content just to make this the world’s slimmest phone - it’s also the lightest. At just 57g it weighs about half as much as a typical mobile. Really, when you put this phone in your jeans or shirt pocket, you’re going to forget that it’s there! The U100 is the ultimate for anyone who prefers their gadgets miniaturised!
The X820 was a popular phone, but never as popular as the slide-design D900, and we expect that the U100 won’t match the huge popularity of the U600 slide phone either. That’s partly because slide phones are the “in” look of the moment, but also because the U100 misses out on several of the features of the U600. We’ll compare the U100 with the U600 in a minute, but first let’s take a look at what the U100 has to offer.

The first thing that you notice once you’ve got over just how thin and lightweight it is, is the neatness of the design. The keypad is small, but easy to use and the phone is very ergonomic. However, if you’ve got large hands you might find it just a bit too small for comfort. The LCD display is a bright TFT display, the same as used on the X820. It isn’t the biggest screen around, for obvious reasons in a phone this compact, but it’s perfect for the size of the phone. Samsung’s new black & white user interface is easy to use and very smart in appearance. If you’re just using the phone for talking and texting, you’ll find it very easy to use.

The Girls of Your Initial Dreams

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

We may name free time a period of time when different people haven’t anything to do i.e. they don’t have to do any job or other type of activity, so they have their own free time. Going to work and running a business, attending school and household chores are not inserted in one’s leisure time. The earliest mentioning of this term was found in Latin and it meant "to be independent", "to be permitted". But firstly this notion came to us from the nineteenth century. It was a time of industrial revolution when the earliest labor unions reached for people an eight hour working day and 2 days off per week. Also such notions as vacation and hobby appeared at that time. An average human being has two kinds of free time: active and passive. Active leisure means that persons have active pastime during their free time. It may be football, baseball and other different games. It may be anything that exhausts a person’s mind or body such as wring poems or playing draughts. Passive free time is the period of time when a person doesn’t exercise any body or brain powers such as visiting cinema, museum, spieling and so on. Many persons claim that this type of pastime is unreasonable i.e. all pluses of free time are lost. But, passive free time is more preferred among many different persons. You can also choose to have your leisure time with the help of escort services. It will be a wonderful time spending, because you will get both active and passive leisure. You will get physical and mental activity and in the same time recreation during your sexual meetings with our girls. It is really healthful leisure time spending because after such an activity you would be ready for your everyday business. Erotic massage is one more service that you can find on this website. Our escort service girl would be happy to give you such an opportunity. You will get much satisfaction and use of the massage we suggest to you. An erotic massage is our proposal that we present to our clients and consumers. Escort girl Ukrainian is a competent in this kind of massage and you will be assured of it. The basic thing in this kind of massage is that it is done with the assiatance of a woman’s body but not only with her fingers. You will feel every part of her wonderful body. For persons who didn’t experience this kind of massage earlier it would be a wonderful possibility to feel some novelty in pleasure. For people who can’t dwell without diversities in sex and pleasure thisactivity is the thing that they want. Many people are often scared of the notion "prostitute" but it isn’t right. Today this tendency is lesser that several years ago, but still too many persons dislike prostitutes. But this attitude is absolutely depends on the social opinion of sexual activity in general. It always presents much pleasure to different persons. As a result we can consider sex an average article of trade that you can get anywhere. And the other point is that such a sex is not related to sex activities that are directed to making children. And society tabooed random sexual activities and blamed anyone who had sex out of family. In the nineteenth century sex and prostitution were tabooed in many states. But in the middle of the XX century the situation completely altered, especially on the West. A bad attitude that the term "prostitution" has is reflected on the other notions of human activity. For example any mercenary man can be named "a prostitute". And we are the people of the twenty first century and our attitude to them must be lenient to every person and occupation, because money has no smell. So if you are not afraid of this term call us and we are going to make your recreation unforgettable.

South Africa: The Ins-and-Outs of the global Economic Crisis

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

The causes and effects of the US mortgage crisis on world markets is often lost in financial jargon and economic terminology, with many South Africans left wondering whether they are being directly affected by it.

Put plainly, the economic woes in the Unites States began a few years back when banks and other financial institutions - not acting within the confines of good lending practices - extended home loans to almost every person walking through their doors.

No proper credit checks were done on prospective lenders and financial institutions continued lending in the face of a diminishing housing market in which the value of assets began dropping sharply.

Econometrix economist Russell Lamberti explained to BuaNews that when, for example, a bank has $500 million in housing mortgages on its balance sheets, but the value of houses has dropped by 20 percent, the bank can no longer extend as much credit as it did.

“If you have $500 million on your balance sheets as a bank, but the assets have lost 20 percent in value, it needs to be reflected in the books,” he said.

How much a bank lends needs to be proportionate to the value of its assets, Mr Lamberti explained.

With banks over extending credit and debt-burdened Americans struggling to repay their mortgages, the US market plummeted, requiring all major world banks to inject billions of dollars into world markets.

“These banks now either have to recapitalise or recall all their loans,” Mr Lamberti said.

Most men, at some tip in their lives suffer from problem of erectile dysfunction. The erection problem results in the man being unable to keep their erection to concede enjoyable sex. When a man is incapable of sexual intercourse, usually because he cannot achieve or sustain an erection, he is impotent. Every man will have problems getting or keeping an erection at some in days of yore in his life.

There are many causes of erectile dysfunction tablets, both psychological and physical factors. However physical factors present more than psychological factors. Psychological factors that cause erectile dysfunction pills include stress and anxiety, conflicts and dismay with the partner, depression, unresolved sexual orientation. There are several physical causes. Some of the most common ones are medicines for elaborate blood pressure, depression, psychosis, anxiety, and epilepsy. Drinking alcohol or stop smoking cigarettes increases your danger of impotence. Alcohol can be very frustrating for men because it often increases sexual desire while decreasing the ability to function.

How Viagra helps in Erectile Dysfunction. Generally Viagra Sildenafil is a prescription drug for erectile dysfunction treatment. Viagra (Sildenafil) belongs to a team of medicines called “PDE5 inhibitors”. It is also called blue pill, which is available in three strengths - 25mg, 50mg and 100mg. Viagra will not produce an erection unless a man engages in sexually exciting activity.

Viagra (Sildenafil) works by ration the blood vessels to the penis to let more blood flow. This helps to create and keep an erection. This increased blood surge is achieved by relaxing the blood vessels that supply blood to the penis.
